A Pilgrimage in Madinah: Discovering Peace and Serenity in the Holy City
Madinah is truly a place of peace and tranquility that brings calm to every soul who visits it. On our first day in Madinah, January 17, 2025, we were welcomed by the sight of the beloved Prophet's Mosque (Masjid Nabawi). It had been so long since we last saw it, and we felt an overwhelming sense of longing. Pilgrims from all corners of the world were gathered, praying together in this sacred place. We stayed at a hotel called The Province, located just a short walk from the main entrance of the mosque, making it easy for us to visit.
During our time in Madinah and Mecca, we were accompanied by a team of muthowif guides who would guide us in every step of our pilgrimage. The team consisted of Ustadz Sahli, who had accompanied us from Jakarta, and Ustadz Alpin and Ustadz Surya Hakim. All three were kind and supportive, providing us with excellent guidance. Ustadz Alpin, in particular, became the leader of the group and was our main guide throughout our stay.
In the late afternoon, after the Asr prayer, we gathered in front of Masjid Nabawi to get to know the other members of our group. Afterward, Ustadz led us on a tour around the mosque, showing us several historical sites related to the Prophet Muhammad SAW and his companions. Many of these places were new to me, and this journey with Hanania provided us with valuable knowledge and deepened our appreciation for the holy city. It made us eager to return.
A Heartfelt Visit to the Roudhoh
On Saturday, January 18, we had the opportunity to visit the Roudhoh, a place deeply cherished by every Muslim. The pilgrims were divided into separate groups, one for men and one for women, with each group having a scheduled time to visit. My group was scheduled for the afternoon. The moment we were about to enter the Roudhoh, emotions ran high. It was a moment we had all been waiting for—an opportunity to pray and offer our greetings at the graves of Prophet Muhammad SAW and his companions.
Although there was a long queue to enter the Roudhoh, Alhamdulillah, our group from Hanania was fortunate enough to be allowed in smoothly. As we entered, the Asr call to prayer echoed throughout the mosque, and we were blessed to pray in congregation. We also performed additional voluntary prayers and made supplications. Alhamdulillah, Allah granted us the opportunity to spend an extended time in this blessed place, close to the Prophet SAW.

Madinah City Tour: Reflecting on History and Beauty
On Sunday, January 19, we embarked on the Madinah City Tour, visiting several significant historical sites. Our first stop was Jabal Uhud, the site of the famous battle between the Muslim and Quraysh armies. We visited the nearby Baqi cemetery, where many of the martyrs from the battle are buried. Together, we prayed for the souls of the brave companions who gave their lives for the sake of Islam. The serenity and beauty of the location made us reluctant to leave until Ustadz reminded us that it was time to continue our journey.

Our next stop was Masjid Quba, the first mosque ever built by the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Upon arrival, we were struck by the sight of many buses filled with pilgrims from all over the world, all waiting to enter the mosque. The large number of visitors only made us more excited to be there. We patiently waited our turn to perform wudu and pray inside the mosque. The atmosphere was so peaceful and inspiring that it strengthened our faith and renewed our determination to continue our pilgrimage.
After visiting Masjid Quba, we returned to the hotel, preparing for the journey to Mecca the following morning.
Conclusion
A pilgrimage in Madinah is truly a meaningful experience. Every step in this city feels full of peace and blessings. From visiting Masjid Nabawi to praying at the historic sites like Roudhoh and Jabal Uhud, every moment brought spiritual calm and closeness to Allah. We pray that Allah will grant us the opportunity to return to this blessed land and continue to strengthen our faith.
