Togetherness at the End of a Career
Author: Agus Budi Harto, 2025-12-15 14:50:01

The final week of employment often carries a mix of emotions—nostalgia, gratitude, and anticipation for what lies ahead. For me, this week became a memorable chapter, marked by a special gathering with my colleagues from the System Compliance Section. Time, as we all know, is a precious asset. Amid the demands of daily work, carving out moments to be together is not always easy. Plans carefully laid out in the COE often remain incomplete, as achieving 100% attendance is nearly impossible. Yet, when such moments do happen, they become treasures to hold onto.
On December 15, 2025, we gathered at Tekko Rawamangun for a farewell meal. It was a day filled with joy, as not only my teammates but also my direct supervisor joined the occasion. I was accompanied by four team members, my supervisor, and two beloved family members. My heartfelt thanks go to Pak Seto, Mas Sukron, Mas Yudi, Mbak Icha, and Siffa as well as my wife Mama Anna and our youngest daughter Julia, who made the day even more meaningful with their presence. Their support and companionship turned this farewell into a celebration of togetherness.
The event lasted for about two hours, though it felt far shorter. Laughter, conversations, and shared memories filled the room, creating an atmosphere that was both lighthearted and deeply touching. Just when I thought the day could not be more special, my team surprised me with a framed caricature portrait. It was carefully crafted, a symbol of their thoughtfulness and appreciation. That gift, simple yet profound, captured the spirit of our bond and left me both happy and moved.
As I step away from my role, this gathering stands as a reminder that beyond tasks and deadlines, it is the relationships we build that truly matter. The farewell was not just about closing a chapter of work—it was about celebrating the journey we shared, the challenges we overcame, and the camaraderie that will remain in memory long after the final day. For all of this, I am deeply grateful. Thank you, everyone.
